Some ppl have been putting up the Alien Vs Predator movie figs for auction on Yahoo! Toy newsletters send word of arrival of new stocks. So my guess is that the AVP set should have arrived already. So off I went to CQ flea mkt first to sell off my auctioned off mint Viking Age Skullsplitter for a good $35, then to check out for any new stuffs.
True to my guess, AVP is out. Emer want 1 set, Ed 1 set, Wenjie 1 set, me 1 set. But I the only feller there. Ganchiong liao. Nvm. Called to inform them, then decided on the next best thing to do... "Can I have 4 sets of that?"
$99 per set. So I paid $396 first. Then found me a seat and waited for Ed and Wenjie to come. Waited 2 hours. 2 hours. Couldn't walk anywhere without nobody looking after the 4 huge plastic bags of AVPs. ~Sniff~
$99 is the best price since Spawn Asia is the original distributor of McF toys, other sellers online and from other shops are letting go at a range of $120-$140. Blah!

Ah SG Idol, it is so entertaining. For its first time in SG, the judges are pretty lenient with the participants. But it's good to see Sly (L'Zefier) make it this far. I only wish the media producers could show him more, he wasn't featured singing on TV even once. But I think it's understandable that while the judges are doing their work judging the participants, the program producers and editors are doing their own form of judgement as well - by deciding who gets more media focus or attention and in what way.
Think the Banana Man, who said he didn't actually make it to the celebrity judges at all. Who's telling the truth? I suppose it won't matter to the passive viewer, but for those who like to think a step deeper, if what the Banana Man claimed was true, how far will the media producers go to distort reality for the sake of entertainment for the masses (and their own TV ratings)? Of course I don't really have to care as long that person isn't myself, but not everybody can react as kindly to such mis-portrayals as that Banana Man guy. I sure like to know what some of you would do if that happened to you, harhar.
Oh and next, while taking into consideration limited airtime and the inclusion of only the more entertaining portions of the footage, I wonder how are viewers going to make fair votes for who to become the SG Idol when the editors and producers themselves have already shaped viewers opinions and perspectives by first deciding who to receive more media focus or attention on the TV.
(This is just an extreme idea...)
