GARO - Bandai Vol. 4 Equip & Prop Garo & Gouten & Madoukoku
We usually buy a toy or figure after having watched a movie, cartoon or show and thought the character was cool. In this case, it's the reverse for me. I bought the set over 3 months ago not knowing what Garo was - I only liked the uber cool looking horse then.
So what kind of show is Garo? When you infuse mature themes of violence, nudity and romance into Power Rangers, Kamen Rider and the likes and market it to adults and older teenagers, that's what you get. "Produced by Bandai, the series is considered by some to be a turning point in tokusatsu entertainment, as it was marketed towards adults and older teenagers, as opposed to younger children."
It wasn't only until this past holiday weekend that I marathoned through all 25 episodes of the series on YouTube and became an instant fan (and realized what cool figures I've bought more than 3 months ago).
